So, a few years ago, while working with local nurseries, we pinpointed several varieties of plants and flowering shrubs that were no longer flowering because of the changes in our weather patterns. Mophead Hydrangea has been traditionally a favorite for its large blue mop heads of flowers, but as our winters become drier, and the cold snaps between warmer periods become more prevalent, these mop heads have had trouble blooming.
